Safer Maternity

Helping women at risk for maternal complications is easy. Here are some suggestions:

	Share your story or the story of someone you know with us. Your story will help us document the realities that women and their families face during and after pregnancy.

	E-mail a link of this website to a friend.

	Send an e-mail or a letter to your Representative and Senators asking them to reintroduce the SMART (Safe Motherhood Act for Research and Treatment) Mom Act and provide more funding to research maternal health issues. You can also send similar e-mails or letters to your representatives on the state level.

	Volunteer with us to talk to other women or men who currently have or have had complications. Volunteer by e-mailing us at Adrienne@safermaternity.org.

	Write an op-ed to your local media outlet highlighting your state or community’s maternal mortality rate. We can provide you with statistics and help.

	Link your website to SaferMaternity.org.

Your voice will truly help to make a difference on the issue of maternal mortality and maternal health complications. To get more research and legislation to protect women, Congress needs to hear from us!
